At Rhool we love to stock from suppliers that work ethically and are always looking to expand our ethical and fair trade collection on the website; we try our best to make sure suppliers look after their workers and the environment as best they can. We believe it’s important to reduce environmental impact by prioritising natural, recycled and up-cycled materials.

We love to support traditional craftsmanship over mass production and work with suppliers that preserve the country's heritage.

Here’s a look into some of the suppliers we stock at Rhool:

Madam Stoltz - Their collections represents consciously handmade and creative designs inspired by nature, local traditions and craftsmanship in India, Morocco, China and Vietnam. From textiles to furniture and lamps, Madam Stoltz are dedicated to their close relationships and cooperation with suppliers.  Since 2010, they have provided financial support to Nai Disha Educational and Cultural Society, a non-profit organisation based in Delhi, focusing on community development through free education. In 2015, they helped start an Empowerment Program for women at the learning centre. Through the program, women can attend courses on skill development to improve their chances at finding employment and ultimately become financially independent.

PF Candle Co - we stock a range of PF collection candles and reed diffusers; all of which are vegan, cruelty free and phthalate free. Made from sustainably grown Californian Soy.

EcuaFina blankets are made using traditional techniques on semi automatic looms by local craftspeople. The alpaca wool is locally sourced, and patterns and colours used reflect a long history of weaving in the area. EcuaFina ensures that these local Quechua families receive a fair price for their great work, allowing them to continue their age-old traditions and support their communities.

Our hand block printed quilts  and hand woven kilims are directly from two small family businesses in Jaipur.

Our Rozablue fair trade/fair made tablecloths and napkins are handprinted in India with love and made by highly skilled artisans.

Azizi Life provides us with gorgeous hand carved kitchen utensils - they invest in community impact projects, provide adult literacy classes alongside other practical resources for personal, spiritual and economic growth. Our pieces from Azizi Life are made from Musave wood, a Rwandan sustainable tree that regrows when cut.

British Colour Standard candles are hand poured in Indonesia; are Fair Trade made using eco materials, no animal derived ingredients; they burn slowly and brightly without sooting or dripping; we also stock their woven jute coasters, jute is derived from a fast growing reed-like plant, that loves the soil & climate conditions of Bangladesh. Their aim is that their products are either recyclable, made from recycled materials, fair trade or eco wherever possible.

We stock a range gorgeous and exclusive to Rhool drum lampshades, made locally here in Devon especially for us.

We stock some stunning homewares from TBCO - from blankets to coasters, they are a BCorp company making stand out pieces from recycled materials. Amazingly, TBCO has saved over a million garments from landfill and they donate to different charities monthly.

Also certified BCorp are the new collection of ceramics we have in the shop; designed in the UK and made in Portugal.

“Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.”

East End Press ensure that their employees are working with safe, fair work practices and try hard to lessen the impact of their product on the environment, for example, their inks are non toxic; they never use plastic; they use a water harvesting system so their water is cleaned and reused again and again; part of their Jaipur factory is solar powered and they use an electric van between their units in Jaipur. They are aware of the impact they could be making on the environment and are truly trying their best to lessen this.
